Women's Rights?

Lawrence Daily Journal-World for May 2, 1912:

"On Friday and Saturday Lawrence and the University will entertain over a thousand visitors from the high schools of the state who will be here to witness and take part in the second annual debate and the annual track meet and tennis tournament held here under the auspices of the University of Kansas A large part of the entertainment for these visitors will be provided for by the University but the town will have its work to do. The first part of the city's work will be to decorate the down town section. The first delegation of visitors will arrive on Friday morning and the booster organizations are anxious that the decorations be in place by that time.... Women's suffrage, the question which will be voted upon by the people of Kansas at the next election, will be the subject for the championship debate of Kansas high schools tomorrow night at the University. Teams from Ashland and Burlington high schools will contest for the debating honors."
