The Lawrence Journal-World reports that the official souvenir of the National Cornhusking Contest went on sale today. The plaster of paris souvenir is a Jayhawk atop an ear of corn. The cornhusking contest will be held on November 3, 1939, and the item will be sold by local merchants. David Whitney, owner of Jayhawker Enterprises at 545 Indiana Street, will produce 15,000 of the item, approximately 450/day.
