Located on level one of the Kansas Union, this is a piece of the original streetcar track that ran south up Mississippi Street to between Strong Hall and Bailey Hall on Jayhawk Boulevard between 1910-1933. It's been buried under the boulevard since that time. It was discovered during the renovation of Jayhawk Boulevard last summer.
